Although we are not yet incorporated, Swimbridge WiFi will be a not-for-profit Social Enterprise cooperative whose aim is to provide cheap, fast, reliable broadband in the Swimbridge, North Devon area.
Most properties in Swimbridge already have access to BT ADSL services, though we believe we can provide better value for money and more reliable access than is usually affordable in our local area. In Swimbridge, as in most villages, BT is the only provider of broadband services with other suppliers buying wholesale access from them. We intend to set up our own network and thus compete directly with BT, albeit on a much smaller scale.

Please register your interest in our project, since that will help us judge whether or not to go ahead! It should only take a minute of your time. We aren’t after any money at this time, and won’t be pressurising anyone who said they were interested into becoming a customer—all we’re looking for now are numbers.
Area Covered
The project is currently in its infancy, so the coverage area is not yet laid-out. The plan is to cover as much of Swimbridge as we can cost-effectively, with the option of expanding towards Landkey, Filleigh, West Buckland and the surrounding areas in the much longer term.
Getting Connected
All you will need to get connected is a laptop or PC with a wireless adapter. Most recent laptops come with WiFi built-in, and the vast majority of computers that don’t can have one installed quite cheaply. In some locations it may be preferable or necessary to install an aerial on the building to achieve a reliable signal.
